Category 6 Cable Installation on the Island of Guernsey for a Major European Finance House.

The project brief was to design and install a Category 6 structured cabling infrastructure across four floors of a new building. Qualitas were also retained to act as IT consultants for the data centre build element of the project.

The building was part of a new office development on the sea front in St Peter Port, Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. Qualitas were involved from a very early stage when the original plans were being developed and therefore able to advise the architects and building contractor on key elements of the infrastructure design.

The building is one of the biggest in Guernsey and the installation is one of the largest Category 6 implementations on the Channel Islands.

The scope of works included the installation of all necessary containment for 1600 floor cable runs with and additional 960 Category 6 inter cabinet and hub links within the computer room to support the data network and VoIP telephony system.

Data points were also installed at high level for future wireless access point implementation.
